Just a few pieces of site business to start with here today…

TTMI Fantasy Hockey openings

–First, I do want to mention that we are doing another season of Fantasy Hockey that you can be apart of.

A few spots remain available for our leagues, and drafts are Tuesday night, so you don’t have much time to get in. Email me at if you want in.

The draft will be held live, online on Monday night. Though, if you can’t join in for the live draft the Yahoo servers will auto pick your team for you. You can also pre-rank all NHL players prior to the draft so you have a better chance of getting the players you want if you can’t draft live.

Puck Chatter Radio

Also, Monday night – the return of PuckChatter~Radio.  We have a lot to discuss.

Al Cimaglia and I will be live at 7:30pm central at

If you can’t listen in live, the show will be available for download almost immediately following the show at that same link, here on this web site and also on Itunes.

HockeeNight PuckCast Season Preview

I’ll also be joining the guys next Sunday night, October 5th, for our annual season preview PuckCast. You can listen to that, and all of their shows at

AUDIO: Chris Block interview with WCRD radio

This is a couple weeks old but everything discussed is still very relevant.

I’ll be a regular guest this season on the Light the Lamp radio show on – 91.3 on the dial in Central Indiana. The show airs every Tuesday night at 7pm eastern/6pm central. Jake Bartelson is the host. They’ve had a lot of great guests so far. You can follow the show’s Twitter feed at

Here’s the link to my interview. Its 20 minutes in length. We discussed the Blackhawks addition of Brad Richards, his recent seasons, the impact and what Hawks fans can expect. Also, Teuvo Teravainen, Adam Clendening, Klas Dahlbeck and the prospects on defense; story on Kevin Hayes’ departure and more.

Listen: Chris Block on Light the Lamp – Sept 9, 2014

Blackhawks in Saskatoon tonight

The Hawks are in Saskatchewan tonight where they’ll face off with the Edmonton Oilers. I’m guessing the Oilers will look more like the Oilers than the Blackhawks will resemble their eventual Opening Night roster.

In any event, we’ll have a full recap of the game on the site later tonight.

Teuvo Teravainen is expected to make his preseason debut. The Blackhawks have been handling him delicately ever since Teuvo was hit hard in open ice by Cam Barker last Sunday in the South Bend portion of training camp.

Kris Versteeg and Joakim Nordstrom are also expected to be in the lineup for their first looks of the exhibition season as well. Versteeg (flu) and Nordstrom (upper) have been held out of games until tonight. Versteeg’s name, unsurprisingly, has actively been bounced around in trade rumors. If that should happen, that could open a door for Nordstrom to make the roster. One would think, however, if Versteeg goes, Jeremy Morin would almost be a lock to stay and take that spot and be a regular in Joel Quenneville’s lineup. So, Nordstrom doesn’t have much time to state his case for a roster spot.

  2. this is so odd. I spent 2 years twiddling the dials for WCRD in the early 2000’s. Where were you when my four loyal listeners were clamoring for any Vladimir Chebaturkin and Casey Hankinson analysis they could get….
