Hollywood,
thank you for the kind words.
Nash, is a tricky question. He is an absolute superstar in Ohio and the question is should a team give that up. Its bad enough they can barelly fill the arena now, if they get rid of him. If he does go, look for the "barelly alive" teams in the playoff push to make a play in either conference (LA, CAl, Winn, TO, WASH, etc)
As far as the Hawks making a trade, well we all know we need a 4th D man, of the puck moving variety. Or a big tough to play against forward. I would suggest the 27 of Feb at around noon for a Hawks trade.

I've been reading your write ups all year and this has to be your best so far. I love the breakdown of Sharps goal, you're good as most would of only seen it in slow motion, but the puck looked like a pin ball, very lucky! I have two questions;
1/ Where do you think R.Nash is going?
2/ Do you see the Hawks making any trade before the deadline.

we looked a bit like phoenix or Nashville last night. Defensively responsible and a lot of odd man breaks.

stals had a great game and then made a terrible decision to go backwards at the nd of the third in his own zone. What the heck was he thinking?? As soon as he did it I told my son, you've got to go foward with a 4 goal lead and just get it out of the zone.

Sometimes the phrase "Dumb Swede," just seems to capture the essence of Viktor. (And believe me that's the pot calling the kettle black) But man can the dude fly!!!!!

I was of the same mindset on Toews until I got the second look from a different angle. To me, it looked like he made contact with Rinne just before Klein arrives. On the bright side, the 'Hawks killed all three penalties and didn't allow the calls to be a factor.

Hell of a bill for a plate of stew, no matter who the chef is...

good analogy on the kid with the popsicle stick. There's a little bit of that kid ina ll of us, no? Reminds me of Esau exchanging his birth right with Jacob.

Nice recap - your the first one I've read that noticed the nice work Razor did at the end of the second when things got dicey.

I thought the penalty on Toews was a ridiculous call. He never would Have hit Rinne if Klein doesn't clobber him from behind. Bollands hook was one that also falls in the ticky tacky category.

I asked Dent about Brookbank on Friday night and he said Brookbank was about a week away from game shape. So Wednesday might be pushing it but not by much if a week is on target.

As far as alternatives, we'll have to see how things shake down on the Blackhawks this week, where there's certainly going to be some kind of shakeup. Montador can come off IR and play in New York on Thursday, so Olsen could be back in Rockford as soon as Wednesday. Dan Henningson, who the Hogs picked off the Express for a game in the first week of January is now playing for Binghamton. I would think they'd be forced to go for an ECHL free agent until everything works itself out up until and through the Feb 27 trade deadline.

Saw that Wade Brookbank skated warmups Saturday night. I assume he could be pressed into service Wednesday if Stanton can't go.

SDP looked even slower Saturday than he did on Friday, but I don't suppose Rockford has a choice right now. What are the Ice Hogs options if the go down another d-man or two due to injury/trade?
