Hawks fail to put Jets away; Montoya, Wheeler steer Winnipeg to 3-1 win at the UC

By Jon Fromi

The Chicago Blackhawks looked to say goodbye to the United Center for the next six weeks with a win over the Winnipeg Jets. For two-thirds of Sunday’s game, a win seemed likely. Instead, the Hawks head to the road having lost three straight after the Jets rallied to beat Chicago 3-1.

Chicago native Al Montoya was the difference for Winnipeg, stopping 34 of 35 shots and giving the Jets the opportunity to hang around long enough to snatch a victory from the Blackhawks. Read more »

No Panic in the MTS Centre

Despite PK, Toews carries Blackhawks in another win at Winnipeg.

By Michael Calvert

1st period:  The Hawks came out with a familiar looking lineup Ben Smith playing in replace of Bickell, or you could say Ben Smith playing significantly better in place of Bickell, either way works really.  Rozsival is D man #6 and Steeger is down on the 3rd where he belongs. Read more »

Campoli comments on Chicago; Lapointe, Bell, Broadhurst and other news and notes

Chris Campoli
this past Thursday on his stay in Chicago

I have nothing but great things to say about it.  It didn’t work out contract wise with them, but they’re a first-class organization.  The fans were unbelievable.  The city is absolutely amazing.  I really enjoyed being there and I was very fortunate to be able join the team when I did.”  [Fan 590 Toronto]

Martin Lapointe, who’s served as a pro scout for the past two seasons, is no longer listed in that, or any other capacity on the Blackhawks official web site.
