By Chris Block

This week we’re joined by Mike Peck, play-by-play voice of the Rockford IceHogs, to preview the 2012-13 IceHogs’ team.

On this show we discuss the progressions made in the games of prospects Carter Hutton, Brandon Bollig, Dylan Olsen, Ryan Stanton, Joe Lavin and others. We take a look at who will emerge as the IceHogs team leaders and captains for this season, the changes in Jeremy Morin‘s game, the impact Rob Flick can have in the Rockford lineup, Pete Leblanc‘s journey to an NHL contract, Rostislav Olesz‘s status as well as the potential IceHogs roster should the NHL Lockout proceed as expected.

Mike also gives us the scouting report on Rockford signing Martin St. Pierre.

We discuss the ramifications of today’s Michal Rozsival signing by the Blackhawks and how that move will impact Rockford’s roster. [see Depth Chart]

PuckChatter~Radio will return next week with the first show of the dreaded NHL Lockout period.

**Next week seems like the perfect time to do some Blackhawks prospects / Rockford IceHogs Q&A from you, the listener.  So if you have any questions in general about this season’s IceHogs, or follow ups to anything Mike and I discussed on this show, post those questions in the comment section below, or its probably better to email those to me directly at PuckChatter@Gmail.com.

And again, if you missed last week’s interview with former Blackhawk Steve Ludzik, check it out!  Ludzy is a tremendous interview and was very generous with his time with us.  As always, he told some great stories and dropped some interesting nuggets down for us.

**I should point out a correction from the show.  I misspoke.  Michal Rozsival’s deal is a 1-year, $2M agreement.

TTMI~Radio: Mike Peck and Al Cimaglia join to recap IceHogs, Blackhawks in 2010-11

TheThirdManIn~Radio returned last night as did a couple of our more popular guests.

Mike Peck, the play-by-play voice of the Rockford IceHogs joined us for the first half hour to recap the IceHogs’ season.  Peck sees the IceHogs more than just about anyone not a coach of the team and discussed the progress of Kyle Beach, Brandon Pirri, Shawn Lalonde, Rob Klinkhammer, Igor Makarov, Brian Connelly and more.  We also got his early observations of the Hawks’ next crop of prospects Philippe Paradis, David Gilbert and Jimmy Hayes and which veteran defenseman, in his mind, has the greater odds of returning to Rockford.

Al Cimaglia of Sirius/XM Radio and HockeyIndependent.com was along for the Peck discussion as well.  We then moved on to talk Hawks-Canucks fallout; whether the series proved the Hawks were anything more than what they showed for the previous 82 games and a few players who are very unlikely to return next season.  Al and I also went further into explaining why the Hawks top players, like Duncan Keith, cannot be relied on so mightily again next season.  We also debate if the Hawks should re-sign Troy Brouwer, who Stan Bowman seems to love and who he didn’t sound too enthused about last week when the name was brought up.

For the final twenty minutes or so, Superstar and go more in-depth into Duncan Keith’s comments and season confessional post-Game 5; why he shouldn’t have said what he did and the misguided comparisons some have drawn.

It’s a John Scott free podcast.  A solid 90 minutes.  Hope you enjoy.  Thanks to everyone as always for listening.

TTMI~Radio with Mike Peck, voice of Rockford IceHogs and Dieter Kurtenbach

Tonight we are joined by Mike Peck, voice of the Rockford IceHogs. Peck gives us his unique perspective on several Chicago Blackhawks prospects including Kyle Beach, Jeremy Morin, Igor Makarov and Ivan Vishnevskiy.  We also check on the health status of a few ‘Hogs, and also confirm news of the impending return of Mathis Olimb.  In addition, Mike discusses his background, his experience in the announcer’s booth and differences between UHL vs AHL.

Dieter Kurtenbach is in the guest-host chair on this edition of TTMI~Radio to discuss the Blackhawks at the 1/4 mark of the 2010-11 season, the impending 6-game road trip, what’s wrong with Duncan Keith and Marian Hossa and if Dieter’s ready to eat crow on Viktor Stalberg.

We also tackle the issues between bloggers and MSM (mainsteam sports media) and Tyler Dellow’s controversial discovery in NHL VP of Hockey Ops Colin Campbell’s email exchanges with former Director of Officiating Stephen Walkom.  And we ask the questions, “Would the reaction to this story been different if it were discovered by a member of MSM?” and “At what point should bloggers be held up to the same ethical and professional standards as members of the MSM?”

Thanks for listening…
