Marian Hossa earned his 999th and 1000th NHL points Thursday night in helping his team overcome the franchise who originally drafted him, the Ottawa Senators, 5-4 in a shootout-deciding Blackhawks victory.
Hossa scored with 6:10 left in regulation time to give the Hawks a lead they would relent 4 minutes later. For Hossa, the goal represented his 1000th career point in his 1,100th career regular season game.
Jonathan Toews added two goals, but the Hawks could not hold onto the lead as Mika Zibnejada scored with just 2:08 remaining. Try saying that name 5 times fast, hell, try saying it once.
