*Note: At about the 53:00 mark, our sound board crashed and the show goes silent for a little over a minute and returns. Last week it happened just as we were about to start. So, its becoming a weekly occurrence, I guess.
On Tuesday, we welcomed Mike Peck, the voice of the Rockford IceHogs, back to PuckChatter~Radio to help us recap the IceHogs’ 2012-13 season.
Over the course of this 40 minute show, Mike and I discussed the emergence of third-year pros Brandon Pirri, Jeremy Morin, Ben Smith and Ryan Stanton. We also covered the development and future of other Blackhawks prospects, including Kyle Beach, Joe Lavin and Jimmy Hayes. Also, we take a look at what next season’s IceHogs’ roster will look like.

PuckChatter~Radio returned Monday night to preview the start of the NHL postseason, more specifically the first round playoff series pitting the 1st-place seed, and President’s Trophy winning Chicago Blackhawks, and the 8th-seeded Minnesota Wild.
Al Cimaglia of MyFoxChicago.com and Sirius/XM Radio’s NHL Home Ice channel joined me to give his take on the series, the Blackhawks season and the long playoff road ahead.

Join us again next week, Tuesday May 7th at a special time of 4pm central time when the Voice of the Rockford IceHogs, Mike Peck, returns to the show to review the IceHogs’ 42-win season that was just not enough to earn that team a berth into the AHL’s postseason.
We touched a lot of bases. You’ll need to listen for yourself, but we discussed the Rockford IceHogs season, another non-playoff appearance, where it all went wrong and where many of those players go from here.
Also, we talked the Blackhawks and their playoff preparations, Corey Crawford, Edzo, Craig MacTavish, a marriage proposal, Fork visits the set of Dancing With the Stars, Marty Turco, Kory Kucur (yes, Kory Kocur), Brandon Bollig, the upcoming draft, the Iowa Wild, Tony Hrkac, Brian Noonan and other odd nuggets.
PuckChatter~Radio chimes in on the New Year appropriately today with a full breakdown of the latest in the NHL-NHLPA collective bargaining process as it dangerously draws near to the feared possibility of a 2012-13 season doomsday in the NHL cancelling its second full season in nine years.
Al Cimaglia of Sirius/XM Radio and MyFoxChicago.com joins the show to give his take on how and why the tumultuous negotiations have journeyed to this, in light of abound renewed optimism, still murky intersection.
We explore the final sticking points assumed to be the hindrances in preventing a deal to this point including the year-to-year salary variance percentage clause that has far-reaching ramifications that have gone unaddressed to this point. We also examine the effectiveness of the “lower limit” salary cap clause and how, perhaps, that can be altered or used as leverage by the union to gain movement from the NHL on other sections of a new CBA.
All this and much, much more on a Lockout intensive PuckChatter~Radio.

And on a somewhat related note….
For any of you who are in the market, or may know anyone in the market, to sell or purchase a new home, Al Cimaglia is now a real estate sales agent in the Chicago western suburbs at ERA Team Feinstein.
This week on PuckChatter~Radio we review the controversial as-told-to autobiography of NHL and Chicago Blackhawks legend, Jeremy Roenick.
We also detail the Rockford IceHogs three-game weekend, in which they started the weekend in first place in the Midwest Division but then fell behind the Grand Rapids Griffins after losing two-of-three including the 4-2 loss in Grand Rapids on Sunday that dropped the ‘Hogs down into second place.
Then we assess the latest in the NHL – NHLPA collective bargaining standoff and take a deeper look than you’ve probably read or heard elsewhere into a few of the key issues the two sides are at odds over.
All this and much more, including a special Christmas jingle, on this edition of PuckChatter~Radio.

***I want to make mention….
I’ll be joining CT and the “Forklift” of Hockeenight.com fame this coming Sunday night, December 16th on their show, the Hockeenight PuckCast for a special Holiday Season podcast. I can’t think of anything that could possibly be more fun.
PuckChatter~Radio will return next week as well at a date, time and with a guest to be determined later in the week. (Read that, whenever I get around to figuring all that out.)
We’ll recap all the latest goings on with the first-place Rockford IceHogs, who have won 7 of their last 9 games to vault themselves from two games below the .500 mark to 1st in the Midwest Division.
We’ll discuss the ongoing experiment that has seen Jimmy Hayes move off the wing to the center ice position. Also, we’ll review several IceHogs at the 1/4 mark of the AHL season including the up and down play of Nick Leddy, Andrew Shaw and Dylan Olsen. Is Kyle Beach finally coming around? Does Jeremy Morin fit in on the Hawks if the CBA mess is resolved soon? How good are rookies Brandon Saad and Adam Clendening?
Monday night, PuckChatter~Radio returned to discuss the fallout from Gary Bettman cancelling 26 percent of the 2012-13 NHL schedule through November 30th, the Rockford IceHogs 4-game winning streak, the presidential election, fantasy football, the big golf challenge, the big tennis challenge, bonertime~!, first impressions of Jeremy Roenick’s new book, the people he supposedly hates most, Roenick’s account of the infamous 1999 Tony Amonte slashing incident, WWE and much, much more.
PuckChatter~Radio returned Sunday night (in sixty-minute form) to review a bunch of topics, some of which actually pertained to Chicago Blackhawks hockey.
We also reviewed our recent camping excursion in the northern reaches of Wisconsin, Sunday’s trip to Wrigley Field for the Chicago Cubs game (and more) and also a recent altercation Block had outside of a Jewel-Osco.
On the hockey side we talked the potential changes and ramifications should the NHL owners and player’s association agree to modify the current structure of Entry-Level contracts, Rostislav Olesz‘s status for this season, a Kyle Beach article sets a new standard for incompetence, Cristobal Huet‘s new big contract and the Blackhawks new ticket pricing structure for the 2012-13 season.
All that and much, much more.
